About the Program

In the business administration major, you’ll gain a well-rounded education that provides foundational, workplace-relevant management skills, organizational theory, and operational knowledge. 

UMGC’s career-focused bachelor’s degree program in business administration is designed to help you compete for the jobs of today and tomorrow by building a comprehensive base of knowledge. This major will help you prepare for a variety of positions in for-profit, nonprofit, and public-sector organizations. 

 The Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Management requires the successful completion of 120 credits:
  • 41 credits in general education requirements 
  • 33 credits in the major requirements (18 of these credits must be completed at UMGC) 
  • 43 credits in the electives and other degree requirements.
This major includes 42 credits of required business core coursework, which may be used to fulfill general education or elective requirements. Of these, 15 credits may be applied toward general education requirements, while the remaining credits will count toward electives.
