- innovative and dynamic course work that helps you develop successful instruction and classroom management strategies
- transformative, real-world experiences through internship placements
- supportive faculty with firsthand experience in creating successful, inclusive classrooms and programs for children and adults
- a supportive cohort of fellow Towson University students studying special education
- collaborative partnerships with families, communities and agencies
- additional focus on Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) through course content, internship experiences, and volunteer opportunities
Students planning to major in special education may choose from the elementary/middle track, which prepares them for certification in grades 1-8, or the secondary/adult track, designed for grade 6 through adult-level programs.
