About the Program
The chemistry major at Towson University offers a strong background in all traditional areas of chemistry: analytical, physical, inorganic, organic and biochemistry.
This program transfer guide is suitable for students planning to pursue either choice of Towson University's standard Chemistry major or Chemistry: Professional Track. Students selecting the Professional track should plan their college careers carefully because not all the advanced chemistry courses are offered every term at TU. A long-term schedule for these courses may be obtained from the Department of Chemistry. Advanced chemistry electives are offered periodically, subject to adequate enrollment.
Professional Track
The chemistry major professional track offers a more in-depth chemistry program with the opportunity to obtain American Chemical Society (ACS) certification. This track is strongly recommended if you plan to pursue graduate studies, work in basic or applied research, or seek employment in industry.
