About the Program
In UMGC’s bachelor’s degree program in finance, you’ll develop the expertise to apply finance theory to real-world situations. Our program combines a foundation in the principles of business, economics, and accounting with an in-depth focus on the details of finance and financial management via intensive case studies. It can also serve as a significant first step toward earning important certifications in the field.
The bachelor of science in finance requires the successful completion of 120 credits of coursework:
- 41 credits in general education requirements
- 39 credits for the major; 21 of these credits must be earned in upper-level courses
- 40 credits in the minor, electives and other degree requirements.
This major includes 9 credits of required related coursework that may be used to satisfy the general education requirements or electives.
